In Brief

 

We would like to start off the year by wishing you and your organisation a successful 2005.  It is shaping up to be an exciting one for SyncSoft with many new opportunities and projects underway.  

 

In addition to working closely with a number of existing and new clients on CAPITAL Package migrations, SyncSoft is continuing to lead the market through its’ ongoing commitment and investment to R & D.  Our dedicated team are busy working on:

 

Ø         Integrated imaging and workflow

Ø         A product builder utility

Ø         A new distributive processing capability known as CAPITAL Business Objects

Ø         Multi lingual environments including traditional and simplified Chinese as well as Korean.

Client User Group Meetings

 

In December we held our Annual Management User Group meeting followed by a cruise and dinner at Melbourne’s Docklands Precinct.  It was great to have representation from most of our clients and we thank all of them for participating. 

 

The annual meeting provided management from across our clients an opportunity to:

 

Ø         Share SyncSoft’s business and technology strategy

Ø         Participate in feedback sessions

Ø         Network with other providers and identify potential new process improvements that may reduce administration costs while improving customer service

Ø         Discuss future product development plans

Ø         Hear from Senator John Watson on the plans ahead for the new parliamentary term with respect to superannuation.

 

During the 2nd quarter of 2005 we will be holding a Technical User Group Meeting.  The meeting will be targeted at expert users and technical support staff involved with the ongoing delivery of administration services and CAPITAL support.

New Product Builder for CAPITAL Package

 

The CAPITAL Package has proven itself to be a flexible, configurable and high volume financial services administration solution and has already been implemented for 10 different products/funds ranging from Industry Super and Master Trust to Allocated Pensions and Term Allocated Pensions, Unit Trusts and now Chinese Retirement products. 

 

Part of the appeal of the package is its’ rapid implementation and low cost of ownership model.  As demand continues to increase for the CAPITAL Package, both here and overseas, SyncSoft has looked at further ways of increasing these efficiencies.

What is Product & Expression Builder?

Product and Expression Builder are new user utilities that allows business users, rather than programmers to:

 

Ø      Create New Business Products

Ø      Manage Product Configuration

Ø      Copy Whole Business Products

Ø      Create Standard Letters

Ø      Create and modify Workflows in CAPITAL’s new Workflow System

Ø      Create and modify formulae, such as Benefits, Fees and Commissions.

 

Unlike simple parameterised rule systems, these new tools have an extremely powerful but very simple script that allows loops, conditions and access to system data (without the need to understand CAPITAL’s data structures).

 

SyncSoft’s Product and Expression Builder are currently being trialed by SyncSoft and are expected to be generally available to clients towards the end of 2005.

CAPITAL Business Objects

 

CAPITAL Business Objects (CBO’s) exposes CAPITAL’s existing business processes in a programmer-friendly way to a clients’ Web User Interface (.NET/Java) or other third part applications. 

 

Regardless of the access method utilised, CBO’s ensure that the same set of business rules are utilised.  This means that the exact same results will be achieved and that the cost of maintenance and support is significantly reduced, as there is only one set of programs, rules and formulae.

Other Initiatives

 

As with previous years SyncSoft continues to devote significant R & D.  Some of these initiatives include:

 

Ø      ATO Supermatch facility

Ø      Net Redemptions functionality

Ø      Adding and terminating employees through STP

Ø      Catapult Q2/05 - is technology that uses multi processors to reduce batch-processing times

Ø      Workflow/Imaging Q2/05 - increases administrator productivity through integrated workflow and imaging in CAPITAL, reducing administrator keying, errors and tracking as well as reduce cost of 3rd party software

Ø      Web   Q2/05+ SyncSoft is supplying a set of web screens that addresses all typical employer and member workbench transactions.  The screens are configurable for brand, field presence/location etc.
