In Brief

Happy New Year!  We trust that like us, everyone enjoyed some time away from the office after what was a very busy 2005 for SyncSoft and most of our customers.

There were many projects throughout 2005, some of the highlights include:

Ø        The implementation of CAPITAL at the PSI Group and the launch of CAPITAL’s new imaging and workflow in production.

Ø        At Pillar Administration we assisted with the implementations of the Print Public Offer and Allocated Pension products as well as Fund Conversions for Print Industry and AGEST.

Ø        The release of Product Builder into production at two client sites enabling letter development, maintenance and configuration.

Ø        The development of CAPITAL Business Objects (CBOs) enabling real-time data calls and updates to and from the database from web-based functions as well as other third party applications.

Ø        Internet workbenches for members, employers, HR and Pensioners using the new CAPITAL CBOs.

Ø        Significant business and product features such as Supermatch, Nett Redemptions, BPAY, Government Co-Contributions.

Ø        Business process reviews for our Template customers that included solutions in the areas of high accuracy addressing, archiving, streamlining bulk exit process and electronic payments.

If you would like to know more about any of these initiatives please contact your Account Manager.

SyncSoft wins GESB RFP!

SyncSoft is pleased to announce that we were successful in a competitive bid and formal RFP process for the migration of GESB - West State Super Scheme from a CAPITAL Template onto the CAPITAL Package.

GESB went to the wider market and did a full review of vendors.  After a very detailed review and selection process SyncSoft was nominated as the preferred vendor.  The project is planned to run for most of 2006 and for the WSS fund to go live later this year.

2nd Asia Pacific Pensions Conference HK

Many countries in the region see Australia as a model for retirement savings and pensions, John Parrent has for the past two years been invited to present at both the 1st Asia Pacific Conference on Pensions in Singapore in November 2004 and more recently the 2nd Asia Pacific Conference on Pensions in HK in November 2005.  Furthermore, as recognition of the leadership role that Australia plays in the region, Australia ’s own Senator John Watson has been the Chairman of both conferences.

For this years conference, John was asked to speak on the topic of ‘Wealth Management and Pensions - The Challenges facing Governments and Wealth Managers. The presentation focused on the challenges in each country in the region and the high probability that these ‘challenges’ would lead to a period of continuous and rapid change for the foreseeable future as the population in the region ages.  John’s presentation also addressed the need for scalable and highly configurable administration systems to meet the anticipated period of change ahead.

SyncSoft’s participates at ASFA 2005 Common Wealth Conference

SyncSoft again this year was a keen supporter of the ASFA Conference with a number of delegates attending the plenary sessions as well as Karen DeAngelis, John Parrent and Neil Wright as exhibitors on our booth.

It was great to see so many of our customers visit us at our booth this year.  At the conference we gave away 300 USB 4 port Hubs. A 4 port Hub simply converts a single USB port into 4 usable USB ports, thus enabling such things as USB memory, USB cameras, mouse, printer etc to be concurrently connected.

In addition to giving away the 300 hubs, we had in excess of 350 people visit us at our booth and enter into our major prize draw of an Internet wireless router and wireless card for their laptop.  The lucky winner of the draw for the router and wireless card was Emma Simpson from Suncorp.
